Hands up if you want to learn a new skill!

You can get “Hands ON” this Easter weekend when Handmade in the Hunter Markets stallholders will:

Demonstrate: Some handmade things are too difficult to bring and teach.  Several of our stallholders will show you step by step the processes they go through to get to a finished product.

Teach one aspect of what they do. Our macrame person will teach you one or two knots. You will get to try to crochet one row of crochet work.  And those who are interested, can have a go at quilting.  Also, our spinner has agreed to let people try their hand at her spinning wheel. You won’t complete anything but you can have a go and see what that creative process is like.

Run make ‘n take workshops: Several stallholders have some come up with some projects that you can make yourself on the day in their stall.  You and your family members can choose from making a stamped leather project, mixing your own finger-nail polish colour, doing plaster painting, constructing a pair of earrings, planting a log terrarium, making an angel pendant necklace, completing an origami flower, covering cloth buttons and who knows what else will pop-up on the day. (Fees charged for Make ‘N Take workshops)

Some of our stallholders will have kits available for sale for those who want to try their creativity home.

We want you to understand the skills involved, as well as experience, why “Handmade is SLOWMADE”….and there’s no better way than by getting you to have a go. So get these dates in your diary and make plans to come and visit us. We would love to see you!
